Mixed martial arts as an unarmed combat sport, is subject to the Unified rules and other regulations under an applicable Commission.

The combination of techniques used in mixed martial arts as a sport is contributed by different Martial Arts disciplines including, but not limited to kicking and striking, grappling and submission holds.

Competition in any form which allows blows to be struck and expected to cause injury falls under the sport’s category unarmed Combat. And the person who participates in this sport as a player is referred to as an unarmed combatant.

The MMA commission will be the one to assign a governing body who will impose or regulate mixed martial arts exhibitions, competitions or bouts, subject to the governing rules for boxing and mixed martial arts of the state in which the MMA bout, exhibition or competition will take place.
